Our Mission

To help students examine, experience, and expand an interest in science and science related careers through exploration of the natural world

Since 2005, we have provided a field-based intensive environmental training and research program to high school students from all over the state of North Carolina.  We offer multi-day, expeditionary science trips in partnership with the National Park Service in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.  During the 6-day experience, students will explore a variety of ecosystems and collect important scientific data along the way. Students will work closely with professional scientists to learn more about field-based research.

“It’s really fun to take science out of the classroom.”
— Elizabeth Guffey, Summer 2015
